The Problem Statement
Government-level civic and macroeconomic data is traditionally trapped behind dense, desktop-bound portals and academic spreadsheets. For the Dubai Statistics Center, the challenge was transforming complex municipal metrics such as real-time GDP growth, fluctuating inflation rates, and live census data into an accessible, mobile-first experience that serves both high-level economic analysts and everyday citizens without causing data fatigue or UX friction.
Requirement Statements
Choice Architecture & Navigation (UXR)
UXR-1 (Bento Grid Interface): The landing view must prioritize high-frequency metrics through a balanced, asymmetric Bento grid system, allowing users to glance at core features like the Population Clock and Dubai in Figures without navigating sub-menus.
UXR-2 (Frictionless Localization): The system must accommodate strict bilingual requirements (Arabic and English) via a persistent drawer overlay, allowing users to switch system logic and typography seamlessly without resetting active application states.
Functional & Technical Performance (FTR)
FTR-1 (Conversational Data Retrieval): To bypass deep informational architecture, the application must feature an automated smart assistant capable of guiding users through structured choice flows or direct queries to immediately fetch granular insights like Business Activities or Tourism statistics.
FTR-2 (Dynamic Data Visualization): The data engine must cleanly toggle between clean tabular views and interactive historical charts (Monthly, Yearly, Time Series) for volatile metrics such as Inflation Rate and GDP.
